The Motivational Interviewing Training for Trainers (T4T) is a 5-day training consisting of 3 days of classroom instruction and 2 days of teach backs which will prepare staff to effectively deliver an end user MI curriculum to other staff. Michael Regan and Associates will provide 2 Master level trainers to teach the T4T MI training. The maximum number of T4T training participants is twelve staff.
This course is designed to prepare students with the skills necessary to be able to facilitate an Introduction and Advanced level Motivational Interviewing course for corrections and probation personnel. The training covers effective strategies for MI training implementation and coordination, content ability, and the presentation skills needed to teach in an adult learning environment. The training will also give the opportunity to each participant to practice delivering the training via a live 2-day end-user session. During the training, Master Trainers from Michael Regan and Associates will rate each participant’s ability to deliver the training to fidelity. At the conclusion of the T4T training, training participants will be reviewed by the trainers on the student’s ability in delivering specific training content they have learned throughout the training, as well as the trainee’s knowledge of each of the core MI components.
